Our Services
Our team translates millions of words each year, helping our clients connect, engage and inspire across the world.
As experts in the fields of technology, manufacturing and marketing, our translators, proofreaders and project managers work tirelessly to deliver the highest quality translations and to provide you with the best possible experience.
Translation
We translate in a wide range of language pairs, with a particular emphasis on German and French to English. Our team of translators are native speakers of their target languages and highly qualified professionals, with expertise in both translation and their specialist subject areas.
Whether your text is a technical manual, a magazine article or a webpage, we ensure that it’s translated with accuracy, fluency and consistency, while adhering to your unique style requirements. With our simple processes and clear, open communication, you can rest assured that the translation process will be smooth from start to finish, allowing you to focus on what you do best – running your business.
Proofreading
When it’s important for your content to be flawless, a second pair of eyes gives an added layer of reassurance. We proofread your translated text to ensure the utmost accuracy, fluency and consistency–something we recommend for any texts that are public-facing or otherwise critical. This extra step avoids potentially costly mistakes, protecting your international reputation.
Transcreation
Transcreation sits at the intersection of translation and copywriting. With our cultural expertise and creative skills, we’re able to adapt your marketing materials (such as an advertising campaign) and transform them into works that strike a chord with your target audiences regardless of the culture. Our transcreation customers include international giants for whom we regularly transcreate film titles.
Localisation
Localisation is the process of adapting services, products and content for specific target audiences. Unlike translation, localisation covers everything from design, images, colour and formatting, to currencies and date formats. High-quality localisation has a dramatic impact on user experience and shapes how customers perceive your company, product or service.
At ecls translations, we have the experience and expertise to transform your content into something your customers will find intuitive, natural and authentic, helping you gain new international clients and break into new markets.
Linguistic Quality Analysis
Linguistic Quality Analysis (LQA) is the process by which our professional proofreaders independently review a translation carried out by a third party to identify any errors, inaccuracies or areas for improvement.
We use our clients’ quality metric, or our own developed in-house, to focus on issues such as appropriate and consistent use of terminology, correct grammar and spelling, conformity with any style guides or instructions, accurate reflection of meaning, completeness, fluency, formatting and tone. When the reputation of your company or product in an international market are at stake, LQA reduces the margin of error further.
Monolingual proofreading
Monolingual proofreading ensures that English content created in-house or commissioned from an external partner, is flawless in terms of its grammar, spelling and punctuation, formatting, style and tone. This ensures you won’t run the risk of losing potential customers to simple typos or grammatical slip-ups.
Machine translation post-editing
While it still can’t replicate the nuance and intuition of human translation, machine translation is an extremely useful tool if your budget is tight or your time is short. Machine translation post-editing combines the speed of machine translation with the intuition, contextual understanding and expertise of human translators. This is an excellent option when you need a large volume of text to be translated quickly, but want to know that a skilled professional will have oversight of the finished translation to prevent any unnatural phrasing or mistranslations.
Adaptation
Sidewalk or pavement? Cell or mobile? Football or soccer? Even for speakers of the same language, the words we use vary greatly depending on where we live and the language variety we speak. If you want to truly resonate with international customers, it’s crucial to use language they will understand and that feels natural to them. We can adapt texts from one language variety to another, for example from US English to British English, to help you get
this right.
